Velma Enriquez Parks, 61, of Timpson, Texas passed away on August 11, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones in Timpson, Texas. Born December 30, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, Velma is the daughter of the late Everardo Enriquez and Lupé (Ortegon) Enriquez. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1PM to 2PM on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.
Velma graduated Sam Houston High School. She later met Curtis Parks & the two were married on October 6, 1979, spending over 38 years together. Velma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. She had a life long love & talent for playing the guitar & writing music. She also taught herself piano. Velma loved cooking, painting, shopping and spending time with her two little dogs. Many knew Velma as a gracious caretaker of others who did her job tirelessly & selflessly . She also babysat many children in Timpson whom she loved & cared for like her own. She never met a stranger, Velma was a devout and active Jehovah's Witness for over 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis Parks of Timpson, Texas; son, Allen Parks of Timpson, Texas; Priscilla Sparks and husband Johnny of Timpson, Texas; brothers, Ernest Enriquez and wife Evelyn of Houston, Texas, Eddie Enriquez and wife Connie of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Lance Sparks and fiance Ashleigh, Turner Sparks and wife Rebecca, Bryer Parks; great grandchildren, Khloe Sparks, Thea Sparks; many nieces and nephews a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Everardo and Lupé Enriquez and Lucy Munoz.
Pallbearers serving will be Allen Parks, Curtis Parks, Lance Sparks, Turner Sparks, Jared Roten, and Roger Swonke.
