Tommie Doylene Holden Flournoy, 60, of Timpson, Texas, passed away August 14, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2024, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Enterprise, TX. Service will follow at 2pm with Bro. Johnny Penney and Bro. Pete Underwood officiating.
Graveside service and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Rehobeth Cemetery, N Wyatt Drive, Norphlet, AR with Bro. Bryan Sellers officiating.
Mrs. Flournoy was born on May 7, 1964, in El Dorado, AR to Gloria Dean and Thomas Victor Holden. She graduated from Pine Tree High School and attended Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin State University. She worked various jobs including being a cashier for Payless Cashways Lumber and Walmart, substitute teacher at Mt. Enterprise and Timpson Schools and a teacher’s aide at Timpson School.
She was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, worked as the Nursery Coordinator for 5 years, helped with Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir. Most of all she dedicated her life raising her son, Tad, ensuring he could succeed in life.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dale Flournoy of Timpson, Texas; son, Thaddeus Flournoy of Timpson, Texas; sisters, Vicky Holden of Austin, Texas, Gail Dooley and husband Mike of Winona, Texas; aunt, Cora Hatcher of Smackover, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Dorothy Flournoy of Longview, Texas; brother-in-law, Delbert Flournoy of Gilmer, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Victor Holden and Gloria Dean Holden Burmeister; step-father, Donald Burmeister; step-brother, Michael Burmeister; father-in-law, Henry Flournoy.
