Shirley Mae (Hartley) Nichols

Shirley Mae (Hartley) Nichols, 85, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on May 5, 2023, in Carthage, Texas. She was born on October 16, 1937, in Timpson, Texas, to the late Marvin and Moline (Molloy) Hartley.

Shirley was born and raised in Timpson, Texas. She graduated from Timpson High School and later went on to marry Larry Hendricks. They were married for over 30 years at the time of his passing. They had 3 children and built a loving home together. Shirley spent many years as Timpson City secretary and also as a substitute teacher. She was a through and through Timpson Bears fan. Shirley loved the Bear Band and was a big supporter of them. She was also a big NASCAR fan. Shirley enjoyed crocheting and was an amazing seamstress. She would spend hours canning and shelling peas. Shirley gave piano lessons to numerous children in the community. She was a faithful member of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church for about 15 years. Shirley loved her family and community; she will be greatly missed.

 Shirley is survived by her daughter, Robin Hendricks; son, Larry Hendricks, Jr.; grandchildren, Jack Wright, Shelby Wright, Haylee Holeman and husband, Josh, Derek Hendricks, Joseph Hendricks and wife, Monica; and numerous other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Moline Hartley; husband, Larry Hendricks, Sr.; and daughter, Paula Wright.
