Graveside service for Selma Goolsby Cowan, 92, of Timpson, TX, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2012, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson, with Dr. Josh Walters officiating. Ms. Cowan passed away January 26, 2012, in Garrison, Texas.
Born January 21, 1920, in Timpson, TX, Selma Goolsby Cowan was the daughter of the late Susie (Childs) and Lloyd B. Goolsby. She was a graduate of Timpson High School and a member of First Baptist Church, Timpson. Selma had been employed as a secretary and retail clerk and was also a licensed realtor. When she was not working, Selma always kept busy with her beautiful ceramic painting, crocheting, and knitting.
Survivors include one daughter Sandra Nell Lanier of Austin, TX; twin sister Thelma Mathis of Nacogdoches and sister Nora Goolsby Rice of Allentown, PA; brothers Lloyd Ben Goolsby and wife Claudia of Timpson and James Birtrum "J.B." Goolsby and wife Dixie of Bryan, TX; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2012, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson.
