Robert Marshall Obituary
Mr. Robert Joe Marshall, 49, of Timpson, TX, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, in Nacogdoches, TX, following an automobile accident. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, December 18, 2014, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 PM until service time at 4:00 PM on Thursday.
Born September 13, 1965, in La Plata, Maryland, Robert Joe Marshall was the son of the late Jackson George Marshall and Glenda Jean Lobaugh Polk. Robert was a truck driver, carpenter, and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed reading, deer hunting, and most of all, spending time with his grandkids. He loved to be needed and took much pleasure in helping others. This was evident even after his death because of his wishes to be an organ and tissue donor.
Survivors include his wife Robin Beavers Marshall of Timpson; mother Glenda "Granny" Polk of Timpson; son James Travis Marshall of Timpson; daughters, Jessica Lynn Marshall of Center and Eileen Marie Marshall and husband Kevin of Carthage; stepchildren: Amanda Muska and husband Zach of Barbers Hill, TX, Travis Goodrum of Timpson, Danielle Brown and fiance' Reginald Davis III of Lubbock, and Shelby Brown of Martinsville; and 5 grandchildren: Jayden, Brooklynn, Brielle, Jazzmine, and Rylan.
Also surviving are brothers, George Marshall, Jerry Marshall, and George James "Jimmy" Curtin, Jr. and sisters, Phyllis Defibaugh, Sue Peck, Rebecca Queen, Margaret Jean Hardman, Thrisa "Sue" Wolfe, and Vi Ellen Arlene Bowers and husband Frank.
Robert Joe Marshall was preceded in death by stepfather Jesse "Pops" Polk, father Jackson G. Marshall, and brothers Jackson George "Jack" Marshall and Harry "Buck" Benson.
Serving as pallbearers are Harris Weaver, Melvin Waller, John Nelson, Gene Muckleroy, and Jeremy Bowley. Honorary pallbearers are Frank E. Baker and Larry Joe Eaves.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made at Austin Bank, Timpson, to assist with funeral expenses.
