Robert Burns

Robert H. Burns, 77, of Timpson, TX passed away on October 29, 2020. Mr. Burns was born May 21, 1943 to the late William H. and Clarice (Bates) Burns.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 3-5PM at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, TX. Funeral service will be on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11AM at Taylor Funeral Home with interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson, TX.

Robert was a loving husband and a dedicated father. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to cattle and working on the farm. He loved a good game of Texas Hold ‘Em and spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid reader and had checked out 395 books from the new library in Timpson alone. Robert was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Gary, TX.

Mr. Burns is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret McDonald Burns; His son, John Michael Burns and wife, Holly, of Center; His daughter, Alecia Burns Patterson and husband, Scott, of Georgetown, Indiana; His brother, Wade Burns of Allen, TX; His grandchildren: Luke Burns and wife, Macy, Joshua Burns and wife, Meagan, Jesse Burns and wife, Madison, Levi Burns, Brianna Patterson, Taylor Patterson and wife, Cheyenne and Seth Patterson; His Great Grandchildren: Ellie Ann Burns and Chrisleigh Ann Burns; Niece, Jennifer Burns Page and husband, Matt; Nephews, Bobby and Ben Burns.

Mr. Burns is proceeded in death by his parents, William and Clarice Burns.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Mr. Burns honor be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Timpson Library.
