Ralph Miller Obituary

Ralph Aaron Miller, 61, of Timpson, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2021 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born on July 23, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Delmar Ralph and Darlene June (Carter) Miller.

Ralph grew up in Michigan and joined the Army after graduating from high school.  While stationed in Germany he met Eleanor, a Drill Sergeant.  They dated for 3 years and finally joined as one in 1985.  While they were dating, they were always stationed together but after getting married the Army stationed them in different parts of the world. During their marriage they had seven beautiful children together and also fostered 15 children.  He was a dedicated family man and loved his children with all he had.  After the Army, Ralph, or Aaron as Eleanor called him, went to work for General Motors as a robotics engineer.  He retired from GM and worked for a short time with Tyson.

Ralph enjoyed quick draw and shooting targets.  He also had hobbies that included carpentry and leatherwork.  Ralph was good with his hands and was said to be too smart for his own good.  But he had a great love for traveling with his grandchildren.  All 14 grandchildren loved their “Poppy” with all their heart.  Ralph was totally dedicated to his children and grandchildren.  They were his whole life.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 33 years, Eleanor (Gray) Miller; his sons, Colt Miller and wife, Brittany, Camrron Miller and wife, Rachal, and Chad Smidt, and wife, Leigh; daughters, Stacy Basshan and husband, Michael, Ricci Finch and husband, Steve, Cendra Miller, and Jackquelynn Miller; 14 grandchildren; 15 foster children; brother, Jon Miller; and sister, Melanie Alexander, and numerous family and friends that will miss him greatly.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Delmar Ralph and Darlene June (Carter) Miller.
