Born September 20, 1922, in Shelby County, Texas, Naomi Lilly Hendrick was the daughter of the late
Ellis H. Lilly and Savannah Yarbrough Lilly. She was a graduate of Timpson High School and a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. She and Leonard John Hendrick were married May 29, 1942.
Naomi Hendrick was an industrious homemaker caring for her family and still finding time to sew for the public. Not only did she enjoy sewing, she also was busy quilting, crocheting, gardening, canning, and tending the cows.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters: "Little" Lois Towns, "Big" Lois Powers, Laura Hairgrove and Patsy Hairgrove; four brothers: Lacy Lilly, E.H. Lilly, Adlee Lilly, and Lester Hairston; and husband of 53 years Leonard J. Hendrick.
Survivors include two sons John E. Hendrick of Timpson, Texas; Benjamin T. Hendrick and wife Nancy of Slidell Louisiana; daughter Mary Jo Rogers and husband Vernis D. Rogers of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren; Courtney Sanchez and husband Antowan, Patrick Hendrick and wife Candace, Brandon Bowen and wife Amy, Teresa Sazedj and husband Shahram, Sherry Pugh and husband Greg, Ann and Sara Hendrick; great-grandchildren, Aidan and Adreia Sanchez, Benjamin Bowen, Zachary Sazedj; Logan, Landry, Larson, and Lexi Pugh and one on the way Mason Hendrick.
