Born September 30, 1945, in Nacogdoches, TX, Lynda Kay Hughes Post was the daughter of the late William
Otis "Slim" Hughes and Mary Evelyn Powell Hughes Bradshaw. Lynda was a graduate of Longview High
School and had worked as a sales manager for Alfred Conhagen in LaMarque, TX. She returned to family roots
in Timpson where she built a home on her grandparents' property. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist
Church, Timpson.
Lynda was blessed with an artistic, creative talent. This talent allowed her to gift family and friends with
beautiful paintings and jewelry. She was a true "rock hound" and spent many happy hours hunting for
and collecting rocks. Lynda's wanderlust was fulfilled as she and husband Ron not only traveled in
the U.S. but also lived in South America and Europe. She was able to visit many countries while in Europe, enjoying the art and beautiful country. Her love of flowers was continued at her home in Timpson with beautiful vines surrounding her porch.
Lynda's time spent with family and friends brought her the most happiness, especially the time spent with
her grandchildren. Whether at her home, at the lake, or on the river, her grandkids had a great time with
Grandmere. Her dogs Mister and Max also brought her much comfort during the last few months.
