Graveside service for Judy Goodrum, 80, of Timpson will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. John Raines officiating.
Mrs. Goodrum passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in Nacogdoches. She was born on October 12, 1943 in Houston, Texas.
Judy was a woman with a heart of gold. She was kind, giving and enjoyed being surrounded by those she loved the most. On May 11, 1963, she married the love of her life, Leon Goodrum. They spent 60 wonderful years together until his passing this past January. Judy and Leon were both very dedicated employees of Timpson ISD and the friendships they made lasted a lifetime. Judy was a member of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher. She also enjoyed reading and watching westerns. She will forever be remembered as the sweet lady at the school who was always ready to help others and never faltered in being a proud Timpson Bear. She would help in the office, cafeteria or in the classrooms and enjoyed every minute spent with the employees and children. Her smile and the way she treated others will certainly serve as wonderful memories to those who loved her.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Trisha Goodrum and her sisters-in-law, Mattie Goodrum and Alice Harmon. She also leaves behind Janel Baker and her family, of whom Judy loved very dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Winston Leon Goodrum and her brothers, Henry Harmon and Gene Harmon.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Goodrum, Roy Goodrum, Casey Stanford, Ronnie Wolfe, Bobby Rhodes and Geoffrey Dubea.
