Johnny Bryan Risinger

Johnny Bryan Risinger, 74, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on October 17, 2023, in Timpson, Texas. He was born on May 26, 1949, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to the late Bowden and Faye (Strong) Risinger. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, Texas with Orval Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Timpson, Texas.

A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, Texas.

Johnny was raised in Timpson, Texas. He graduated from Timpson High School in 1967. Johnny spent his career working for the Railroad system, mainly for Southern Pacific Railroad. In his early years, he played bass in a band. Johnny had a need for speed and enjoyed riding motorcycles and driving speedboats. He was also a bodybuilder in his younger years. Johnny met the love of his life, Petra, and the two were married on December 10, 1982. After retiring, Johnny spent time gardening tomatoes and vegetables of all kinds. He also found joy in spending time on the lake fishing. Johnny was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Timpson. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 40 years, Petra Everest Risinger; sons, Tate Brock and wife, Debbie, David Brock and wife, An, Darrin Minderman and wife, Yanira; grandchildren, Jamie Jones and husband, John, Tasha Cloutier and husband, John, Travis Clouse and fiancé, Tamra Easom, Shelby Brock, Addison Brock, Valeria Quinones, Miranda Minderman, and Juliet Minderman; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bowden Risinger; mother, Faye Risinger Hudgins; and sister, Connie Risinger.
