John Sifford Obituary
Funeral service for John Edward "Johnney" Sifford, 72, of Center, TX, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 27, 2012, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson, TX, with Bro. Justin Coburn officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Friday, before the service at Taylor Funeral Home. A family interment will follow on Johnney's property. Mr. Sifford passed away April 23, 2012, in Shelby County, Texas.
Born March 5, 1940, in Pollok, Texas, John Edward Sifford was the son of the late John Wesley and Vivian (Veil) Sifford. He was a graduate of Hudson High School and retired after over 30 years with the Texas Department of Transportation. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and playing his bass guitar.
Survivors include his daughters Chaunte' Sifford and Misti Sifford, both of Center; and 3 grandchildren: Mason Peterson of Elysian Fields, TX, Maci Sifford of Center, and Mavian Sifford of Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sudie Bell Oates.
