Mr. Rader passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Nacogdoches, TX. He was born February 20, 1959, in Denison, TX.

If you feel moved, the family has asked that donation be made to Good Hope Baptist Church.

Jim grew up in Denison, Texas. He graduated from Denison High School and then went on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University. While attending SFA, Jim worked there and continued working as a manager of housing operations until he retired in 2019. Jim met a lovely lady, Melanie Hudman, on a blind date. They went on to be married on September 28, 1996. Jim and Melanie were blessed with 29 years together. During their marriage, they have shared their love, laughter, and a friendship beyond words.

Jim enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys play, whether winning or losing. He spent all the time he could hanging by the pool or at the beach. Jim was very social and loved having people over for parties or just shooting the bull.

Jim was the definition of a family man. He was so proud of his family. Jim would often tell stories of his family from West Virginia and how they worked in coal mines. He fondly remembered playing in the snow with his cousins. His most fond memories were those he made with their daughters, Kristyn and Kaylie. Jim was a proud husband and dad.

Jim served on the Timpson ISD School Board for 9 years, serving his community. He and Melanie worked at the flower shop together, giving back to the community they loved when ever they could. Jim attended Good Hope Baptist Church. He loved God, his family, and his community.

Jim is survived by his wife, Melanie (Hudman) Rader; daughters, Kristyn McCormick and husband, Prestin of Cleveland, Texas, and Kaylie Rader and fiancé, Steven Pajewski of Spring, Texas; mother, JoAnn Campbell of Pilot Point, Texas; and sister, Robbin LaBonte and husband, John, of Pilot Point, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Paul Rader, Sr.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mickey Allen, Charles Montes, Steve Cobb, Mark Foltermann, Huey Hancock, and Steven Haney.
