James Acrey Sr. Obituary
Funeral Services for James Acrey Sr., 75, of Gary, Texas will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Timpson, Texas with Bro. Jimmy Nix and Bro. Marty Grounds officiating. Interment to follow in the County Line Cemetery in Timpson, TX with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 8904. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2015 at Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. James Acrey was born July 7, 1939 in Jumbo Community, Texas to his parents, Arlin Acrey and Madge Hudman Acrey and passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at East Texas Medical Center, Carthage, Texas.
James loved working out in the yard and going to garage sales on the weekends.
James is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Ann; sons, James (Jimmy) Acrey Jr. of Carthage, Texas, Lee Acrey of Gary, Texas; Rocky Acrey of Center, Texas; daughters, Doris Matlock and husband Ricky of Carthage, Texas, Virginia Matlock and husband Mike of Mt. Enterprise, Texas, Patricia Nelson and husband Danny of Odessa, Washington; 14 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Joe Acrey and wife Rhonda of Spring, Texas; Sisters, Virginia Churchman of Carthage, Texas, Billy Davis of Cypress, Texas, Lorene Nix of Mt. Enterprise, Texas; and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Mr. Acrey is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Tinkle; sister; Dorothy Reese; and Grandchild, Sydney Nelson of Odessa, Washington.
Pallbearers: Travis Matlock, Michael Matlock, Jamie Acrey, Jared Veazey, Bobby Tinkle, Max Churchman.
