Harold Clay Obituary
Funeral service for Harold David Clay, 83, of Lake Jackson, TX, will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, July 2, 2012, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson,TX, with Orval Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM. Mr. Clay passed away June 29, 2012, in Houston, TX.
Harold David Clay was born August 31, 1928 in Timpson to George Travis Clay and Gladys Fredrick Clay. He was of Baptist faith. Harold graduated from Timpson High School in 1946. He then joined the Navy and served his country for 4 years. After service he went to work for Bell Telephone Company in Houston. He retired February 20, 1985 as Systems Technician in Freeport, Texas.
In 1955 Harold and Wanda Elaine Milford were married. They lived their entire married life in Lake Jackson, Texas and raised their family. Harold enjoyed fishing and hunting and spent most of his free time doing this.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Elaine (Milford) Clay, sons Gerry Michael Clay and Harold Dayward Clay.
Survivors include son Jeffery Clay; daughters Debbie Klatt and Lisa Chapman, all of Lake Jackson; brothers Travis Clay, Jr. and wife Bobbie of Timpson and Richard Clay and wife Judy of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
