Obituary

Gwendolyn H. B. Crawford passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Lakeside Village Assisted Living, in Center, TX.. She was born November 7, 1921, in the Huber community of Shelby County. She lived most of her adult life in Timpson. She and Oneil celebrated fifty years of marriage in October 1998. Gwen made the decision to donate her body to science in the late 1980’s. There will be a celebration of her life later in the fall.

She is survived by her children: Billie Sue Beckham Payne, Michael & Glenda Crawford, Jim & Annette Crawford. Seven grandchildren: Rob & Kim Payne, Angela & Kevin Walker, Josh & Lacie Payne, Coby & Fran Crawford, Emily & Stephen Rodriquez, Makenzie & Clent Wyatt and Alayna & Miguel Thames.  Thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Sterman and Clio Johnson Hooper, her first husband, James L. Beckham (killed in action in WWll), her second husband, Oneil Crawford, her son-in-law Vance Payne and her grandson Corey Crawford.
