George Chaney Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. George Willis Chaney, 87, of Timpson, TX, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 16, 2015, in Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Timpson, TX, with Bro. Clyde Hess officiating. Interment to follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Garrison, TX with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 8904. Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Chaney was born June 6, 1927, in Nacogdoches, TX, George Willis Chaney was the son of the late Charles Henry and Lula Elizabeth Jacobs Chaney. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his farm baling hay. George had a loving spirit and would give the shirt off his back if needed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carrie; sons, Edgar Chaney and girl friend Denise of Timpson, TX, Larry Chaney and wife Tresia of Huffman, TX; daughters, Gina Diane Broussard and husband Billy of Center, TX, Rachael Mabe and husband Mike of Manassas, VA; grandchildren, Jason, Sarah, Dennis; great grandchildren, Richard, Kason, Makinlie; one sister and a host of family and friends who will miss him greatly.
Mr. Chaney was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Donald Wayne Chaney and George W. Chaney, JR.
Pallbearers are Ray Morrison, Charles Barr, Jason Button, Dennis Broussard, Billy Coppock and Michael Mabe.
Honorary pallbear is Billy Broussard.
