Gene Hudman, 89, of Timpson, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Born March 25, 1929, in Caledonia, Texas to the late Ernest and Ethel (Taylor) Hudman.
Gene was born and raised in Rusk County near Caledonia. After graduating from Mt. Enterprise High School, he entered the United States Armed Forces serving his great country. Gene met the love of his life, Eloise Mills, and the two were married in 1950, together spending more than 68 wonderful years together. Gene was a very kind, loving man. He devoted lots of his time to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Whether it was watching them under the Friday night lights march or play football he was always present. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a very kind, loving man, helping lots of folks throughout the years. If Gene told you something, it was going to be just that. His word was worth everything. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was fishing, or tending to his cows. One of his favorites was giving out Georges, $1 bills, to the children whom he thought so much of and loved dearly.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Eloise Mills Hudman; daughters, Marianne Hancock and husband Huey, Melanie Rader and husband Jim; grandchildren, Philip Hudman, Stephen Hancock and wife Ginny, Justin Hancock and wife Laura, Jennifer Hudman, Adam Hudman, Kaylie Rader, Kaela Hudman, Kristyn Rader; great grandchildren, Samuel Hancock, Dallas Messer, Madalyn Hancock, Abigail Hancock, Bryce Hancock; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ethel Taylor Hudman; son, Donald Gene Hudman; grandson, Andrew Hancock; brothers, Harvey Hudman, Barna Hudman, Troy Hudman, Noble Hudman, Claude Hudman, Adrian Hudman, Billy Joe Hudman; sisters, Madge Acrey, and Marie Nix.
