GERALD RAY HUGHES

Born September 8, 1938, in Center, TX, Gerald Ray was the son of the late Doyle and Beulah Hughes. He served on Timpson Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. Gerald worked at Tyson for over 30 years before he retired. He loved outdoors and loved to fish.

Survivors include his daughters; Ellen Kennon of Timpson, Patricia Merliss of Dallas; son David Hailey and wife Lisa of Timpson; daughter Debbie Golden and husband R. J. of Center; daughter-in-law Jill Hailey of Timpson; sisters, Patsy Garrie and husband Dave of Baytown, Texas and Joann Martin and husband Gordon or Joaquin, Texas.

Also surviving are grandchildren: Holly Mikesh and husband Stacey, Ryan Golden, Misty Lilly and husband Jay, Rusty Nix and wife Morgan, Greg Hailey and wife Michelle, Alissa Hailey, Abbey Hailey, Christi Kennon Curtis and husband Will, Adrian Merliss, and Anna Merliss; and great grandchildren: Kennedy Mikesh, Korbyn Mikesh, Jacie Lilly, Jake Lilly, Jackson Lilly, Hunter Nix, Brycen Nix, Hudson Nix, Cash Hailey, Katlynn Curtis, Keegan Curtis, and William Curtis Jr..

In addition to his parents, Gerald Hughes was preceded in death by wife, Olga Mims Hughes; son Billy Hailey; brothers Billy Doss Hughes, Marvin Hughes; sister Melba Danley; and granddaughter Addison Hailey.
