Evelyn McLeroy Obituary
Evelyn Allen McLeroy, 85, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on March 30, 2017 in Garrison, Texas. She was born on September 4, 1931 in Choudrant, Louisiana, to Larkus Green Sr. and Eva (Frazier) Allen. Evelyn was born and raised in Choudrant, Louisiana before moving to Timpson with her family. After graduation she soon found the love of her life, late W.L. "Vic" McLeroy whom she married on April 28, 1951. They spent almost 50 years together before he went to be with the Lord in 1999.
Evelyn enjoyed going to watch Timpson Bears play football. She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. Evelyn worker for Acme Brick in Garrison, Texas as a masonry grader for over 20 years before retiring in 1997. Her face would always light up when you brought her a milkshake to drink. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Timpson.
Evelyn is survived by her sons, Mitchell Allen McLeroy and wife Angie of Lone Oak, Texas, Jeffery Wayne McLeroy and wife Debra of Timpson, Texas; daughter, Janice Snelson and late husband Ronnie of Garrison, Texas; brother, R. S. Allen and wife Sandra of Garrison, Texas; sister-in-law, Billie Joy Allen of Timpson, Texas; special friend/sister, Alcie Mae Porterfield; grandchildren, Jerry Snelson and wife Crystal, Mitchell McLeroy Jr. and Candy Gilbert, Chad Snelson and wife Tiffany, Amanda Shadix; great grandchildren, LCPL Jacob Morgan, Chloe Snelson, Maddison Snelson, Ryder Snelson, Laura Snelson, Austin McLeroy, Bailey Shadix, Cadence Shadix, Marissa Gilbert, Paeton Gilbert; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vic McLeroy; parents; sister, Claudine Barrett; brother, L.G. Allen Jr.; and brother-in-law, Dewayne Barrett.
