Ethel Mae (Scott) Moreland

Ethel Mae (Scott) Moreland, 89, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on December 30, 2022, in Carthage, Texas. She was born on October 27, 1933, in Rayville, Louisiana, to the late E.A. and Rosa (Hagood) Scott. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas, officiated by Bro. Carroll Jones. Interment will follow at Corinth Cemetery, Timpson, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas.

Ethel married Jimmie Burk Moreland on June 19, 1953, in Pickering, Louisiana. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and working in her flower beds. She volunteered at the Timpson Genealogy Library for many years. She loved talking with people.

Ethel is survived by three children: Judy Ann Marlow of Burleson, Texas, Larry Burk Moreland and wife Donna of Timpson, Texas and Linda Moreland of Azle, Texas. She was also proud of 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ethel is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 67 years, her parents, one sister, Belle Brobst, and one brother, Buddy Scott.

Serving as pallbearers are Timothy Brookshire, Jimmie Moreland, Danny Price, Chad Moreland, Jarod Moreland, and Bryan Moreland. Honorary pallbearers are Sage Lancaster, David Brookshire, Devin Moreland, Devin Moreland, Eric Moreland, Kolby Moreland, Karter Moreland, and Cody Baugher.

She will be greatly missed by all.
