Funeral services for Cecil Arlene Hairgrove, 86, of Timpson, TX, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday,
February 4, 2015, at Timpson Missionary Baptist Church, Timpson, with Bro. Justin Coburn and Bro. Cliff Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February, 3, 2015 at Taylor Funeral Home. Ms. Hairgrove passed away Monday, February 2, 2015, in Timpson, Texas.
Born February 8, 1928, in Carthage, TX, Cecil Arlene Hairgrove was the daughter of the late Aubrey and
Effie Mae (Barton) Swann. She and Charles Otto Hairgrove were married in January, 1946, and were blessed with 38 years together until his death on November 11, 1984. She was a graduate of Timpson High School. Ms. Cecil spent her early childhhood in the Caledonia Community then to Timpson for the remainder of her life. Her hobbies included cooking, working in the yard, raising cattle and working on her farm. She truly loved the outdoors, being with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ms. Cecil was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother that was truly dedicated to raising her family. Cecil was a member of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church, Timpson.
Survivors include her sons Charley Mack Hairgrove, and wife Vicky of Splendora, TX, Mike Hairgrove, and wife Mary Jane of New Caney, TX, Pat Hairgrove, and wife Letitia of Timpson, TX; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Cecil Hairgrove was preceded in death by husband Charles Hairgrove and one great grandson.
