Carrie Mae Chaney

Funeral services for Carrie Mae Barr Chaney. 87, of Timpson, Texas, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas, with Bro. Ozay Ford and Bro. Clyde Hess officiating. Interment to follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Garrison, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson, Texas.

Ms. Chaney was born July 15, 1931, in Timpson, Texas to the late Ernest Rastus and Mary Etta (Stone) Barr. Carrie married the love of her life, George Willis Chaney, on November 14, 1950 where the two spent over 64 years together before his passing in 2015. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She took pride in raising her six children and loving them unconditionally. Carrie enjoyed reading Guidepost, watching western shows, and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed working on the farm with her late husband, George.

She is survived by sons, Edgar Chaney and Denise of Timpson, Texas, Larry Chaney and wife Tresia of Huffman, Texas; daughters, Gina Diane Broussard and husband Billy of Center, Texas, Rachael Mabe and husband Mike of Manassas, Virginia; grandchildren, Jason Button, Sarah Coppock and husband Billy, Dennis Broussard; great grandchildren, Richard, Kason, and Makinlie Broussard; sisters, Louise Nolan of Talco, Texas, Bertie Hess of Poteau, Oklahoma; brother, Carlos Mack Barr and Louella of Woodville, Texas; brother in law, Charles Birdwell; and a host of family and friends who will miss her greatly.

Ms. Chaney was preceded in death by her husband, George Willis Chaney; parents, Ernest and Mary Etta Barr; sons, Donald Wayne Chaney and George W. Chaney, JR; brothers, James Daniel Barr, Ollie Ray Barr; sisters, Billie Birdwell, Linda Morrison; and brother in law, Wilson Morrison.

Pallbearers are Charles Barr, Ray Morrison, Orville Hess, Ricky Nolan, Randy Nolan and Greg Haymon.
