Mrs. Gibson passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in McComb, Mississippi.

Born January 28, 1929, in Garrison, TX, Barbara Brossette Gibson was the daughter of the late Archie Benton Brossette and Sarah Billingsly Brossette. She spent her early childhood in Logansport, LA, and then the family moved to South Louisiana - Ville Platte, Port Barre, and New Iberia. They returned to Logansport where Barbara graduated from high school in 1946. She then attended beauty school in Shreveport, LA, and worked as a hairdresser for a short time and as a waitress at the White Way Cafe. It was while working at the cafe that she met an electrical highline man, E. H. "Bink" Gibson, and they were married October 5, 1947.

Barbara and Bink lived on a dairy where they enjoyed raising their three kids. After rearing three successful and productive children, they moved to Timpson, TX, where Barbara lived for the past 33 years. She was very involved at First Baptist Church, Timpson, and served on many committees. She also volunteered with the RSVP program. Even though she was busy, she always had time to be a loving grandmother and great grandmother. For the last 17 months, Barbara had lived in McComb, MS.

Survivors include her son Benton Gibson and wife Jane of McComb, MS; daughters Hope Gibson of St. Croix, USVI, and Robin Crawford and Duncan Connell of Timpson; granddaughters: Monica Kirchmer, and Amy Allen; grandsons: Russ Gibson, Patrick Gibson, Greg Gibson, Neel Gibson, Kyle Allen, and Jordan Jones; and great grandchildren: Ann Elise and Jax Kirchmer; Trace, Jillian, and Lylah Gibson; and Taylor, Tyler, and Taran Morris.

In addition to her parents, Barbara Brossette Gibson was preceded in death by husband E. H. "Bink" Gibson and sister Gloria B. Rogers.

Memorial donations may be made to Timpson Volunteer Fire Department of Timpson Volunteer Ambulance Service.
