Graveside service for Avalia "Boya" "Gopher" Roy, Jr., 70, of Tenaha, TX, will be held at 1:00 PM,
Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Roy Family Cemetery, 260 PR 105, Tenaha, TX. Mr. Roy passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012.
Born August 29, 1942, in Houston, Texas, Roy Avalia, Jr. was the son of the late Avalja Roy, Sr. and Mary Marie Hines Roy. Mr. Roy served in the U.S. Army and was employed with Okite Chemical Company while living in Houston. He and Carolyn McCleskey were married in December of 1984 and moved to Tenaha, TX, in 1985.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn of Tenaha; sons Joseph Charlie Roy and wife Stacy of Tenaha and Matthew John Roy of Nacogdoches; daughter Glenda Gail Kellogg and husband Jimmy of Conroe, TX;
stepson James Edward Kedzieski and wife Kathy of Crosby, TX; stepdaughters Barbara Kedzieski of Tenaha, Cheryl Lynn Gilbert and husband Gregg of Katy, TX, and Billie Jean Barnaby of Houston; sisters Ella Pitre of Conroe, Ethel Dotson, of Conroe, and Julia Mae Wancho of New York. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild.
